Since fall 2002 I have been enrolled at Santa Barbara City College working on a multimedia arts certificate through SOMA (the school of media arts) while on my way to earning a 2 year degree.

 

Achievements:

 

I am a professional level developer, skilled especially in the use of web entertainment production software. I am especially skilled at using the scripting environments of Macromedia Director and Flash. I am also a talented 3d modeler, and graphic designer.

I have worked at Santa Barbara City College for 7 years as an Instructional Aide, helping my teachers design the course curriculums, giving lectures/demonstrations of software, and helping the students figure out solutions to there software, programming, and design problems.

Work:

 

June 1990:

Built as animated interactive tour that explained and guided the user through the physics and astronomy exhibits in the museum of natural history Santa Barbara.

 

January 1991: did an explanatory animation of the human circulator system for one of mike mason (SBCC anthropology teacher) award winning academic lectures on human physiology.

 

June 1991: Did a complex 3d logo animation for SBCC's faculty resource center.

Did an animated 3d SBCC LOGO.

Did a long 2d animation explaining the duties of the faculty resource center.

 

1992 to 1995:

slacked off, played to many video games, hung out with friends, and talked on line a lot.

 

1995 to 1997:

did over 60 3d character models with over 400 animations for a video game I was designing. I also made over a hundred prop and scene models for the game, and wrote an RPG video game engine for the game.

 

August 1998:

Designed several types of children’s coloring books, and wrote the code/did the web optimization for a series of children’s games for: http://www.planetm3d.com/, the company latter died and they paid horribly so I wasn’t to sad to see them go J.

 

1999 to 2001:

worked as the lead 3d model for sphidia software, making mostly mechanical models using light wave 3d. I both designed, built, and animated dozens of models for the company as well as offering loads of creative input to the project. The team fell apart and the game fizzled in 2001 when every one seemed to lose interest except the 3 company founders and me.

 

May to July 2001:

Wrote a video game engine for both 2d and 3d games in Macro Media director. The engine was latter repurposed to be a 3d image viewer that dynamically loaded images from a server and then animated them in 3d space, randomly showing student artwork made by the kids the multimedia program ran by Carl Demangate of Santa Barbara High School.

 

April 2002:

worked for Jill Proudfoot (a teacher at SBCC) on a several cd-rom projects:

Wrote a search engine for an equine breeding cd-rom, as well as setting up multi speed scrolling image viewer for the same cd rom, and wrote the code for as animated children’s quiz game she was working on.

 

July To August 2002:

Coded the environment for a web learning application for Laurel Springs High School of Ojai California. The application did everything from keeping track of/providing a search engine to look through enrolment and teachers positions, to giving teachers a graphical  design environment to build web lessons and quizzes for there students.

 

October 2002:

Worked as a consultant on the flash demo for Master Writer software and helped them work the kinks out of their flash based navigation code and animations.

Also worked on a 3d animated TV commercial for the School of Media Arts, doing character animation on the department mascot “SOMAN”.

 

March 2003:

Wrote the code and built the interface for a power point presentation exported to a video file and then embedded in flash. For Laurel Springs High School of Ojai California.

 

July 2003:

Did several self help visualization animations, a training cd rom, and the web site for Doctor Vida Barons http://www/101happiness.com.
